The CSN&Y talk leads me to The Thorns cd....I've been listening to an
advance copy for a few days.
Maybe I'm being simplistic, but I hear CSN&Y all over this thing. It's a
pop album, but I don't consider it a power pop album. A couple songs rock
(sorta), but as a whole, it's got a laid back, Sunday morning vibe to it.
Their cover of the Jayhawks "Blue" is on there. If you are familiar with
that tune, it'll give you a good idea of what the rest of the songs sound
like.
Those of you who favor the softer side of things will probably flip over
this. The harmonies are really nice. If you lean towards the Shazam,
you'll probably be indifferent. Well, maybe not - I favor loud guitars, but
I'm enjoying this alot.
