Add Nick Lowe, whose "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace Love and Understanding"
was covered in two famous incarnations--the better known, by Elvis Costello,
earned a chunk of change, and the lesser-known, by Curtis Stigers on the
"Bodyguard" soundtrack, earned a whole pot of gold. Thanks to a few Whitney
Houston mega-hits, that soundtrack went platinum many times over and made Mr.
Lowe a millionaire, pretty much financing his entire '90s career. --Jason
