Just as a clarification, when I said that the backlash was unique to the
audities list, I was referring more specifically to White Stripes disdain
than the old "My favorite obscure band is better than this formerly obscure
band that made it big" thing, which of course exists everywhere, as you say.
While there are some quarters where the White Stripes are certainly not "it",
judging by our tastes it seems they take a disproportionate amount of flack.
