So what! I'd much rather have another artist (albeit a more high profile
artist) cover it and give it wider exposure than let it languish, never to
be heard except by a small group of music snobs. Maybe the ones who pick up
the single and like the b-side might be curious to check out the original (I
certainly would be).

I don't think Natalie Imbruglia stole anything. I'm sure she paid in some
way to record that song and another way after it became a hit. Also, if
that song never became the hit that it did, then Howard Stern would never
have heard the song and gone back to listen to the original and declare that
the original was way better and feature the Ednaswap guys on his show which
gave Ednaswap (or ???? Previn) more exposure. Hopefully, they'll
capitalize on it (I don't know what's going on with them).
Also, you don't like the White Stripes new one? Your loss.
