You've opened a can of worms there, and I for one ain't gonna pick at it
anymore.

Well, maybe I will......

First off I could follow your statement by saying there is a good reason I
don't listen to modern blues guys. I just think once you hang the "power pop"
label on a band, you've painted them into a corner. See where this could go?
That's not to say I don't like some of the bands who wear this tag, I just
hate labels on bands. "Emo"??what the hell is that? From all the questions
I've asked and the endless discussions on this list, no one really
knows..hahahahah

I will recognize various areas of music, but not any of the boxes people want
to put things into. Back to the Beatles, and the album of the same name. Where
are you going to put that one in today's balkanized record scene? I've decided
to follow that lead and work freely across all boundaries.

I have to admit I'm still working from that era when radio played everything.
I've got these old KYA charts from the mid 60's. Slim Harpo, Frank Sinatra,
Beatles, and Herman's Hermits side by side. No one really gave it much
thought, let alone a label like "mall punk". I think sometimes we are now too
well informed. I'm mean you can go to school to learn how to play rock and
roll, or some other more narrow category.

I've sort of wandered away from making any sense I suppose. Just a rant.

But to make it clear, I love the Posies. Several of the Posies are good
friends and have worked with my little band. I was just digging through my
record collection searching for all my Gary Charlson records. I saw the Move
and the Who and the Kinks. You don't even want to get me started telling
Flamin' Groovies stories....I'll let Deniz do that.

Yes, it all comes from the Beatles, and yes no one can touch them. Does that
mean we should all give it up. Hell no! Don't forget the Beatles were chasing
Buddy Holly and Little Richard to name just two.

Ok, now I have to get back to reality and finish editing the narration for a
"Water Treatment Training CD Rom".
