I believe those are the only two Cretones albums that were made....they were
both among the best of the New Wave movement. Linda Ronstadt covered several
songs from Thin Red Line on her Mad Love album.>>>

What a coinkidenk, i was just listening to an old old tape of Linda's Mad
Love album - first time I'd listened to it in probably 20 years. I enjoyed
it. Probably because it transported me back in time, not because it was a
particularly great album. But I'd say it's a fun album. Her choice of
covers was often good: for instance Party Girl, Girls Talk, I Can't Let Go -
but let's face it, the songs were usually much better done by the original
artists. Although I like Linda's take on ICLG - I think maybe the
Continental Drifters listened to it once or twice before they did their
version for the Hollies trib from a few yrs back. (The Drifter version, by
the way, totally rocks and is by far and away my fave version of the song.)

Back to Mad Love - which Cretones songs did Linda cover on Mad Love?

Thinking about Ronstadt makes me think i should find a good cd comp of
pre-80s Rondstadt - same with Carly Simon. I have a soft spot for the 70s
female vocalists. Heck, female vocalists of any decade. I remember a
thread here years ago where some folks said they couldn't really get into
female pop vocals. I for one love female pop vocals. In fact, I can think
of a few female vocalists/bands where I feel the music/songwriting is sorta
so-so, but I liked them anyway just because of the sound and feel of the
female vocals -- whereas run of the mill music with male vocals usually just
plain bores me, no matter how good the vocalist is. Hmmm...
