Dude, lecturing me of all people about how "stuff that doesn't sound like
power pop is good too!" is downright laughable.

Now, if Brian wants psychedelicized folk music of the '60s that doesn't
suck?  May I suggest Ed Askew, late-period Holy Modal Rounders (an
excellent example of unusual vocal styles that work wonderfully...unlike
Robin's), Mellow Candle, Heron (nothing to do with Mike), Chrysalis, the
glorious Pearls Before Swine, Kensington Market, Shirley and Dolly Collins'
late '60s albums...there's hundreds of great albums in this style.  But
none of them were done by the Incredible String Band.

Naturally, this is all my opinion, but your implied subtext of "you must
not know anything about this style of music" is, I assure you, deeply wrong.
