Consensus is split on the Todd R. Yahoo Group.  I'd
say an unscientific tally would put more in the camp
of really enjoying hearing the tune backed by a full
band and background singers, but there is camp that
felt the same as you..

Speculation is that Dave requested (or insisted) that
he do it (same is in the A Walk Down Abbey Road and
Ringo tours).

Reports from the recent tour have been quite positive.
