Have I missed something, or did anyone else mention Jesse Malin on this
list? I just got a cdr from a friend, with songs I suppose are from his
'The Fine Art Of Self Destruction' cd. I've just searched AMG and
learned this is the D Generation guy solo, which left me very surprised,
since Malin's solo stuff is far from that band's rocking sounds. If you
have not heard it, it's a widely varied singer songwriter album -
although definitely not unfocused - with extremely passionate vocals,
and textures coming from alt country, folk, even maybe some slight
experimentation from prog/art rock. Heady, moody, clever stuff indeed.
I'm very impressed.
