~~~i thought it might be better on the album, with
production and all. saw her on letterman the other
night....she struggled. she mentioned with dave she
was a little nervous. when she got up there, the
vocals were drowned out by the band, and i wondered if
that was done on purpose. she seemed to have a hard
time with the pitch, and several times, looked like
she was going to put her finger to her ear to help her
listen to herself, but then didn't cause she didn't
want to look stupid, and not 'rocking' enough. also,
it seemed sort of country tinged, like the hot country
folks are gonna love it. which goes right along with
my feeling that she is a real memory flash of her dad.
and dave even mentioned that 40 some years ago her
father stood on that very stage. interesting. i
wanted her to do well from the very first note, and
previous to this, i never really cared much for her if
i cared at all. it was strange.
