But I've thought since it came out that there is a great power pop arrangement of Cher's "Believe" ("Do believe in life after love... after love... after love... after love...") lurking somewhere beneath the surface of the song's gloss. I keep hearing it in my head with a punchy bass line and big power chords and harmonies. Am I crazy?>>
well this one definitely isn't power-pop, but the bands bedhead and macha did a really nice, really slow, really quiet, really sad-sounding version on their joint album project "bedhead loved macha/macha loved bedhead" (which, speaking of other recent threads, would make for a pretty nice rainy-day album).
