I first brought up the Effection on this list when they were going by the name
"The Simple Things". One of the guys who is on staff here at Flying Colors is
Gavin Hammon, the drummer for the Dance Hall Crashers. He's a friend of the
guys in the Effection. The 5 song demo EP I've had for the last year holds
great potential for what the band will do with a full-length CD. It's pretty
straight ahead modern power pop, with the emphasis on power. All the elements
are there for it to be a hit with many Auditeers. The band members are also
friends with Billy Joe Armstrong---so the connection to the Adeline label.
