Speaking of which, was i understanding correctly that
there was a newish Puffy Amiyumi cd out not long ago?
i believe that was when my cd buying moratorium was in
full swing and i was purposely ignoring all new
releases. Can someone fill me in?
the latest was released in January in Japan called NICE. It's produced and mostly written by ex-Jellyfish-er Andy Sturmer.(he plays drums, too).
It blasts with Who-like riffs and completly runs the gamut of pop. The second cut is an homage to The Buggles' "Video Killed The Radio Star", and the song that's sung in english, "Your Love Is A Drug", is like a pumped up version of "It's Magic" by the Cars. Great sounds throughout.
There's some pretty acoustic songs reminding me of classic Jellyfish...("Bedspring Kiss" crossed with "Russian Hill"). Overall, it's definately worth getting the US version with bonus tracks, though I've not seen a release date yet. Anyone know about that? Stewart?
