This whole thing confuses me, really.
Everyone's talking about getting spammed by DG from this list. I wonder why I
didn't get any of that spam? After all, I've bought his CDs over the last few
years. I sent DG a photo of me holding two of his CDs, so I could get the
Emitt Road limited release. So I think I'd be a target for the spamming since
I'm obviously ready for his next release. I've been eagerly looking forward to
it.
And then all this stuff comes up. I can't make claims that I know David
Grahame personally. We have exchanged e-mails, all friendly and all pointed
toward what's wrong and right with the music biz (and comics' biz, as a
tangent). All the e-mails from DG have been cordial, so it mystifies my why he
might be the source of spewing the spam.
Not having heard from him directly or from Alan Haber makes me think there's
something more to this than what the spams may have contained. I hope so. I
really enjoy David's music and want more of it.
But until we get some definite word that it was DG maliciously spamming
Auditeers, and not some prankster (hey, that's *never* happened here
before---yeah, sure), I wish the name-calling and vitriol would just stop.
