Which is why some of us think "Tomorrow The Green Grass" is
"one of the best records of the 90s" and their masterpiece.
Depends on what sound you're after and whether you think 
Mark Olson is greatly missed. 

Rainy Day Music bridges a gap between Smile & TtGG, though not
as punchy nor quite the songwriting tour de force of TtGG. 
IMO of course...
