hm, acutally, i saw brendan benson about a year back
and i thought he did suck pretty hard. i got the
impression i might like the stories he was telling in
his songs - except i couldn't distinguish anything,
really, since he mumbled his way uniformly through the
set, when he bothered to approach the microphone at
all. so maybe he's cleaned it up since i saw him, as
anna suggested, but i was totally underwhelmed by him
and haven't pursued his music after that (though i
might not pass up a used cd of 'mississippi' if i
happened upon one.)

other side of the coining,
