Yeah, that sort of is his problem, isn't it?
As much as I enjoy Moore's work and believe his work as an agitator from the
left is sorely needed, I just wince whenever the guy opens his mouth.
His attempts at levity -- often bad -- undermine the importance of the
message he's trying to deliver.

As far as the Dixie Chicks go, my best guess is that Miss Maines delivered
her ultimate apology under extreme duress, and only did it after she was
hammered by a legion of record company guys, publicists and skittish
managers who saw a risk of the gravy train coming off the rails.

As a guy who writes for a living, I took a look at that statement it read
like it was written by a battalion of lawyers and shaped for maximum damage
control.

That said, it's disappointing as hell that she chose to back down from her
initial and very genuine comments.
