I'm not a guitar player - hopefully someone here can answer this question:
What kind of Guitars did the Searchers play in the mid 60's?? I have a
album cover of them playing guitars (TV studio shot) and the names of the
guitars are either too small to read or have been airbrushed out. They look
a lot like Strats but are not Fenders, the "horns" on the guitars are
longer, and one guitar has a nice sparkle plastic pickguard with several
extra volume knobs and a gold tremolo bar. They look beautiful. Were these
Vox or Japanese guitars?
