I was at SXSW a week or so ago and during the major label A+R Panel,someone in the audience asked the panel collectively what would they do if they were the Dixie Chicks...Frank Callari from Univeral answered that their new album, had sold approximately 5 million copies and was projected to sell 5m more and that their tour had grossed $49 million in one day. He basically said that the Chicks have nothing to worry about.There was however an interesting article in the New York Times the other day about the link between the anti- Dixie Chicks protests and the powers that be at Clear Channel Communications.
