Subject Guitar Pedal

I just purchased a Danelectro Sitar Swami Pedal.
Supposed to make a guitar sound like a sitar. To me it
sounds like a distortion, flanger, and octave pedal
all plugged in at once. Maybe I am not using it right.
Anyone else have a comment on this? thanks and God
