I stand corrected! I knew they had done a wrap-around 3-pak of the original
releases, a la similar packs of Jeff Beck and Bangles CDs, but was unaware
they did a 3-pak of the remasters.
The CT box set is full of fun outtakes (especially those from "The Doctor"),
soundtrack-only tracks and interesting live oddities.
Re: Mike Bennett's comments on "Hangovers" & "Silver," I'd further clarify
that "Silver" is kind of a big extravaganza of their 25th anniversary show
held at home in Rockford, Illinois - better on DVD than CD. Lots of guest
appearances and added instrumentation. "Hangovers" (also available on DVD)
is much more straightforward CT live playing what most folks would consider
the quintessential tunes, Smashing Pumpkin guests notwithstanding. If
you're a major CT fan, get "Silver" on DVD - otherwise "Hangovers" is your
better bet.
