Please make sure to head over to The Sherman Oaks Lounge on Friday, March 28
for our next International Pop Overthrow Presents show, and we'll make sure
that your March does not go out like a lamb! Here's the lineup:

8:45 Josh Shachterle (of The Wind-Up Merchants): Josh is the
singer/songwriter of the excellent band from Denver, The Wind-Up Merchants,
whose music runs the gamut from soft, whispered acoustic guitar to the
power-pop energy of hard electric chords, relentless drumming, and emotional
vocals. In other words, it's pretty much your fun pop-punk! Adam Marsland
of Cockeyed Ghost, who has toured the country and has seen thousands of
bands, says that Josh is one of the best there is...and he would know!

9:30 Blake Jones & The Trike Shop: Hailing from the unlikely hamlet of
Kingburg, California, this ensemble uses just about every instrument under
the sun to create some bizarre, quirkly, yet ultimately melodic sounds on
their latest CD, A Sides & B-Movies. Blake displayed some of those unusual
moves at last year's IPO fest when he played "The Star Spangled Banner"...on
the theramin! Definitely something a little bit different!

10:15 Steve Barton: Most of you know Steve as the man behind the awesome
'80s band Translator (you know you can sing "Everywhere That I'm Not" in
your sleep...and you probably have!), and many of you own his album The Boy
Who Rode His Bike Around The World. Well, Steve has a brand new album
coming out soon-I've heard many of the tracks, and they're great! His live
band really rocks, too! http://members.tripod.com/~stevebarton/

11:00 Shplang-They’ve long been mainstays of the L.A. music scene. They’ve
got lots of excellent CDs (about five of 'em for sale at last year's IPO Los
Angeles festival), and have a very cool, unique sound as well, with swirling
psychedelics meeting solid pop sensibilities. One minute they're sounding
like the Strawberry Alarm Clock, the next: The Stranglers. Intrigued?
Check 'em out!

Admission is FREE! The Sherman Oaks Lounge is a 21 and over venue, and is
located at 5248 Van Nuys Blvd.
Phone: 818 784-1920.

We hope to see you there!
