My wife shakes her head when she sees the room dedicated to the 3,500
Canadian albums and 1,750 Canadian 7" singles. I have 65 NON-Canadian
records in my collection (mostly Beatles and related).

My collection *is* worth a lot of money and is unique in that 80% of all
that CanCon has never been released on CD -- it's a sad state of affairs
that the Canadian music industry has wholly neglected its entire musical
heritage, but I digress.

Though selling off some of it is tempting (Fludd, Kensington Market,
Rhinoceros, et al are all worth between $50 and $75 depending on who's
buying) the years I've spent amassing these albums for the research on my
upcoming book release [a spinoff of the Canadian Music Encyclopedia at
www.canoe.ca/JamMusic] has made me believe that a library of this sort is
worth more historically then it is monetarily.

And besides, who would then answer all of David Bash's questions about the
Poppy Family? :-)

Jaimie Vernon,
Proud owner of 47 mint condition Sparton Records 7" singles from 1956 and
1957!!!
