Was just doing my usual "lurking" about on the list and listening to one of
my fave discs "Dance With Me -The Autumn Teen Sound"(I love the disc so
much that during Baypop's first year we had a tribute to The Autumn crew
which featured The Beau Brummels, in which most of the surviving major
players from the label and scene were there) when I came to the posts
regarding The Us,Bob Segarini, and this fine disc. Wierd....Only on the
audities list would this happen. That's why I love this list so much! I just
couldn't stop myself from posting,which I haven't done for quite some time.
Both of The Us's tracks are (along with The Tikis and Vejtables) among my
faves on disc and from the entire Autumn catalog. "Just Me" is vey cool as
was stated here previosly, but the one I play every day and I mean EVERY DAY
is" How Can I Tell Her". What a fantastic track!!! A lost 60's classic if
you ask me. Like The Dovers "Baby, What Am I Gonna Do" another of my all
time loves off of the original Nuggets Box. The feeling behind Bob's voice
is so strong. Great lyrics and such a cool vibe,to boot. Kicks my ass
everytime. The Magic Christian a new band made up of Cyril Jordan (Flamin'
Groovies), Prairie Prince(Tubes),Alec Palao(Sneetches,Nuggets dude,and the
guy who put out The Autumn CD!!) ,and myself have already worked it into our
live set for when we debut @ Baypop(Nov. 12-16) this year.Keep your eyes out
for this show and others in the coming months(shameless plug!). This year's
line ups are really looking good already . The annual reunion show is off
the charts this year. For a hint....See my next play below.
Bob... Please,drop me a line some time soon. I'd love to chat with you a bit
. Sometime in the next few months a writer friend of mine will be talking
to various people from the time and getting their recollections about The SF
music scene. He's working on a SF Underground Music In The 60's book and
is looking for people to chat with. Let me know if you're interested. I must
also add it's really cool and an honor to know I'm on the list with you.
Always wondered what the man behind that haunting voice was up to these
days. And one last question for you ,sir... one I always wanted to
know..What does the name 'Cylus Prole' refer to? I saw your full name is
listed as Bob 'Cylus Prole" Segarini in the liner notes for the disc and
always wondered what that means. Can you enlighten me?
