Jocelyn,
My statement wasn't really one of awestruck
disbelief about network programming versus current
events. That's the hard part about posting, it's
often difficult to determine where someone is coming
from (I'm not a writer). I just thought about the
irony of the so called politically correct programmers
who most likely would have moved the show. Personally
I didn't really care. I enjoy the show regardless. I
actually passed on a quick note to Miles Goosens last
week stating:
Yeah...I saw the disclaimer as well and thought about
the usual situations that are in the context of the
show (I like the show) but just wondered about other
viewers who would be flipping channels and arriving
just at that moment.
I also mentioned that locally we had "The Towering
Inferno", "The Hindenberg" and "Backdraft" televised
over the same weekend - I kid you not...
I was on the air when the memo arrived from Clear
Channel with songs to avoid after September
11th...good grief - it was really suggested not to
play songs like "Imagine" and "Bridge Over Troubled
Water". I'm sure that most people on this list heard
about this in the news when it happened but seeing a
list like that still send chills in our studios.

P.S. Has anyone heard the latest album by The Coral?
I saw them on Conan and swore I was listening to a
garage band from 1966. Not bad at all.
