Following some linkage re: The Monkees (2003 attempt), I discovered that the
pilot's script was co-written by Josh Elvis Weinstein, possibly better known
by some as the original sidekick to Dr. Forrester on MST3K (as well as the
original Tom Servo). Weinstein is also a musician, and plays occasionally
in the L.A. area. He is also listed as an executive producer for the new
Monkees show. Harold Bronson is also shown to be a part of the production
team. Interesting...hopefully this would bode well for it NOT being a
"reality" show, and perhaps even some decent music development.
