I agree with those giving London Calling the big thumbs up. The only way it could've been better is if one of the guys had said something like, "All you kids out there should go pick up a Clash album, like now!" Too bad they didn't show Elvis during what seemed like a decent guitar solo, shared with Little Steven. Like Bill Holmes, I was hoping for more than one song by this combo. Oh well... it made the whole night worthwhile.
As for leaving Maurice Gibb out of the list of people who died, I have to assume it was because they had a separate tribute planned to the band/him.
Fred Durst's new word: "agreeance" (it even shows up when you watch with sub-titles!)
Hey, I'm not the biggest Johnny Mathis fan in the world, but does anyone else think they should do more to recognize a lifetime achievement award winner than to simply show his photo and say that "a lot of us wouldn't be here if our parents weren't listening to him"??
Robin Williams: just not funny with his very tired "homeboy" shtick.
Finally, I agree with Don Imus and his gang who were critical of the use of overblown pyrotechnics during Nelly's performance (not quite, but kinda like having an NRA rally in Columbine soon after the incident).
