Real as in someone that actually plays an instrument (in real time, not
computer-corrected) and can actually sing without histrionic shrieking
(another anomaly in most of today's current female vocalists). I haven't
heard the rest of the album, but compared to the crap I HAVE heard, she's
the most "real."
Of course, Lennon said it best years ago...nothing is real...including me
having to clarify my original message. Don't think I was gushing, as the
majority of what passed for Grammy Award worthy music last night is
snooze-inducing to me, and at least Norah Jones seemed like someone with a
talent that could sustain a long-term career as opposed to having to be
shaped & molded to fit the latest trend.
