-----Original Message-----
Dearest Owsley Fans, I feel compelled to write to you in response to
my
brother's post about the future of my solo career. The goal was to
inform
you and get you up to speed on the delay in the release of my second
album.
I would like to address a few of the questions stemming from that post
at
this time.
First off, I would like to say that I am flattered by the outpouring of
love from your responses to the post. I would also like to let you know
that I'm not quitting the Owsley project, only seeking a new way to get
you
the music. I appreciate everyone's opinion on how I should proceed and
I'm
aware of my options, and am considering my musical future at this time.
I
need to take care of alot of unfinished business before I can really
begin
exploring new possibilities.
I am also flattered at the letters and chatter of helping me ($) to get
my
record out. It means so much, but right now lets not talk about that
until I
find out my legal destiny and the destiny of the music (30 some odd
songs).
If I could ask anything of all of you, it would be for grace. Remember,
I'm
the only one standing in my shoes. Fortunately, I produce, write and
play
well enough to be able to make a living in music aside from being an
artist,
and now and then I have to lean on that to make ends meet . I'm glad to
do
it. Thanks for understanding. Don't worry, I did not work my self
nearly
to death on my first album to throw it all away now. Its gonna work
itself
out, I promise. The music business moves very slow and things take time
.
You've all been very patient and loyal to me thus far. I'm gonna ask ya
to
be that a little longer. God closes doors and opens others, and what
doesn't kill us makes us stronger. I believe that. Hang tight .
Thank
you, Will Owsley
