Hi everyone.
Just a note from a sorta newcomer to the list.
I was subscibed to the digest for a while a few months back, and was
primarily a lurker.
My name's John Micek, and I live in Harrisburg, Pa., where I front a
"pop"
band called Milkshake Jones.
I've lived and breathed "insanely great music" for most of my life, and
it's great
to know that this oasis of like-minded souls exists.
By way of background, my day job is as a political reporter for a
newspaper here in Pennsylvania, and by night I contribute to music
magazines such as The Big Takeover, Pop Culture Press and (until
recently) PopMatters.com.
I know the FAQ says that I'm supposed to keep self-promotion to a
