Down here in Texas there are many male Hispanics who love hard rock and
metal. When I worked at 96-X in Longview/Tyler Tx in '97 I'd get calls from
guys all the time who loved Ozzy, KISS, Van Halen and Zep. I didn't think
it was a big deal, if they loved what I was playing it was cool with
me! We didn't have a FM Spanish language station in East Texas until 3
years ago, its now a Top 10 rated station.
It's kind of strange to see rap artists riding low-riders when that whole
car culture originated with hispanics in the 60's...
