I've gotta believe that the reason they didn't do "Matchstick Men" was that
they don't think they can recreate the intricate harmonies and sound effects
in a way that can do justice to the song.  Maybe they think they'd sound
like a bunch of old men trying to pull off psychedelia.  They actually
didn't do any of their '60s stuff (I was thinking of yelling a request of
"Make Me Stay A Bit Longer", but I'm sure it would have fallen on deaf
ears), which doesn't surprise me.

Yeah, admittedly Status Quo has never been strong on innovation, but their
songs have a lot of melody and they're all great fun to me.  I haven't heard
too much Foghat other than the big hits, so I think it's time for me to
explore that territory.
