Last night I saw Status Quo at The House Of Blues. For a bunch of geezers
those guys can still rock! They had a slew of white Marshall stacks, one of
which blew a fuse during a song (I guess they must have had it turned up to
11). They did 20 songs from throughout their career (although no "Pictures
of Matchstick Men", which disappointed me and I'm sure a few others in the
crowd), and it all sounded great. Their brand of boogie is the easy
listening equivalent of hard rock, meaning it's very simple and easy to
digest...and lots of fun!

The Waking Hours opened, and were excellent; after a time they started to
win over the Quo-rum.

The one curiousity was that there was a huge contingent of Hispanics in the
crowd, and they were clearly there to see Status Quo. I hadn't realized
that the band had tapped into that market. Does anyone know how or when
that happened?
