I think you are referring to the Minders.
I believe the Minders share a member or two with the Apples (is it Hilarie
Sidney or is that Secret Square?)
Hooray for Tuesday is a groovy little slice of psychedic pop.
Anyway..they both were from the Denver area and Robert Schneider (of Apples)
produces Minders stuff..

Gregory Webster also released a solo cd on Vinyl Japan that was pretty good
as well.
I think he may have toured with Trembling Blue Stars (as well as Harvey
Williams of Another Sunny Day)...but I could be wrong.

I believe Red Chair Fadeaway had a couple of cds and also had a side project
of sorts called Dandelion Wine. DW was more of a Fairport Convention/Nick
Drake influenced group. They had at least one cd on the English Garden label
(same label that released Red Chair Fadeaway).

As for Elephant 6/Kindercore stuff. I *do* like it. I just have to be in
the right mood. Know what I mean?
Weren't The Mockers part of that group too? "Hooray For Tuesday" was a
classic.
