fuck yeah! That Attic Cd was a horrible horrible abomination. Total crap sound.
Trust me, we've spent a YEAR restoring and remastering all this stuff.
The engineer working on it is an SACD certified guy (only one in
Canada) and did it as a labour of love for me.
Analog transfers were done at Bryan Adams' studio here. To compound
the problem, Attic
threw out their copies of the masters (the rights always belonged to
the band) so
we had to work from safeties the band kept, older DAT transfers,
vinyl, whatever had
the best sound or combinations thereof...

yes it does... of course I can't think of the title off the top of my
head (the lp
is at home)... the reissue will have the two complete Attic lps plus
4 bonus tracks
from those sessions including a guitar-o-rama "River Deep Mountain High"!!!
It's important to note that the Waves Capitol debut was comprised of
RE-RECORDINGS
of 12 tracks from these two Canada-only lps. The original versions are way
better, including Walking On Sunshine (with no horns, just guitar-driven).
The cd will have a bonus DVD concert film from 1983 - BEFORE the
group had an album out!
Three camera shoot, the whole deal. Very Don Kirshner-looking!!
We found and restored the separate audio track for it as well.
Odds and sods from the "Shock Horror" lp will debut on the Bible Of
Bop re-issue
later this year.
But yeah... it's been an exciting learning curve on re-issuing and
the importance of
the original vinyl is NOT to be underestimated.... there's a lot of
stuff done as
the mastering guys cut the lacquers that is one-time only and not on
tape...sometimes good,
sometimes bad...
