This reminded me of a fine light psych, soft-pop album by Lou Christie from
the late 60s, called "Paint America Love". A couple of years ago, it was
featured as a "lost treasure" or something like that in MOJO, and if I
remember correctly, they said not all of the songs were reissued on cd.
Maybe they've been now, but I was happy to see that they were indeed
included in an obscure and cheap but perfect sounding compilation -it
doesn't sound as coming from vinyl at all- made in Switzerland I found dying
in a used bin a few years ago. Really recommended!
On an unrelated note, I have been having a blast finishing my SOTT cdr and I
included a cool song by The Ashes, off their Smashed! album, from 1994.
Whatever happened to these guys? Anybody knows? They sounded a lot like
Silver Sun (but they came first, right?) As far as I know, this was their
only album. Please prove me wrong!
best!
Francesc
PS- Still sending out an SOS to any kind soul here owning the Tony Hazzard
Lp "Sings"- Please trade me a cdr of this... the other two Lps are so good
early Gerry Rafferty-meets-James Taylor kind of pop, I need to have this
one!
