I'm sure that thread title got my message auto-dumped by a few people...

Bin browsing today - always theraputic - and picked up HONOR AMONG THIEVES
by The X-Rated Cowboys, a Columbus Ohio band. Would certainly shelf among
the collections of the y'alternatives among us, and the website boasts a
Fufkin review (Eric, I believe) from last year. The lead singer (Quinn
Fallon) has a voice reminiscent of John Welsey Harding, albeit a little
rougher, and the music is as engaging whether rocking out or laying back.
Gtr/bass/drums but also pedal steel, accordion, mandolin, horns...I hear
strains of The Replacements, The Beat Farmers and Mike Ness as well as the
more country Robbie Fulks and JWH side. Very enjoyable album - solid
songwriting, strong vocals. "Goth Girl" just got added to my SOTT16 entry.

Haven't even checked out the live tracks yet, but here's a link to their
site with MP3s of both album cuts and unreleased material:

Check out the individual and band bios on the main page while you're there,
too - love that some of the press took them seriously. :)

back to your lives, already in progress...
