Actually, let me rephrase a bit...I think most MAINSTREAM music sucks. But
there is still a lot of great music out there if you're willing to dig a
little. This is why I rarely listen to the radio (even VH-1, which was
decent for a bit is now Hip Hop Central for some reason). I find a lot more
great releases through recomendations from NotLame, Alternative Addiction,
or (cough cough) my own website's readers.

The problem is, the average soccer mom only goes by what she hears on the
radio and might pick up the CD on the one or two hits she likes. But is she
going to be bothered surfing websites and audio streams looking for new
tunes? Nah, she'll be content hearing John Mayer 20 times a day. And this is
where my biggest peeve comes in...radio sucks, and REALLY sucks in the New
York City area. It's way too strict and formulated now and I'm not even
going to get going on Payola!

Which leads me as to admit my guilt...I download music. A lot of it, most
"illegal". But unlike some, I buy everything I like and scrap what I don't.
If I can't hear things on radio to sample, I'll just find another way to do
it. NotLame is great because they have mucho soundclips but even then,
sometimes hearing them out of the context of the album doesn't do the songs
justice either.

Man, I planned on posting one line and created a novel...
