Don't let the ravings of a few get to you. It amazes me that people will bitch and moan like this when you have done so much over the years to allow for this forum to exist. It is your work and dedication that allowed for the creation of what overall is a fairly mature and mannered group - most of the time people can disagree without it degenerating into personal attacks or without someone hijacking the list. Without your labor of love, all of us would know less about what we profess to be passionate about and we all would have been exposed to so much less good music. Sure as Audities membership grew, there has been more immaturity and a higher level of nonsense. But Michael, overall it hasn't been bad, by any stretch and the public good generated by this list so out weighs the occasional drift into stupidity (and most times any stupidity resolves itself in a day or two). Sure it must be a pain in your ass at times - who wants to be perceived as the cop or who wants to receive a demeaning public email like the above. But you know what, you've done an amazing job and you have demonstrated over the years that you clearly lack any agenda other than wanting to allow for a forum to discuss power pop. The forum is composed of people, with all of our foibles and shortcomings and silly rantings like the above. (An aside - Miles, you want to see a list run a different way, make polite reasonable suggestions to Mr. Coxe, do not insult him in a forum that only exists because of his labor of love - or, if that is not your style, go create your own list and let's see if after seven years it has the service record of the Audities list and has been run with the same degree of wisdom and generousity? If it does, god bless you.) This forum exists because of Michael Coxe and after being a member of the list since almost the inception, I am more than confidant in his ability to oversee things with a totally unbiased hand.
Finally, Michael know you have done a tremendous public service and that there are many many people here who appreciate all your time, energy and effort. Hopefully, posts like the above will roll off you and you won't throw in the towel. My compliments for not responding "Go _____ yourself".
