Amen and Hallelujah, Brother Dale! Can I get a witness? I always try to
balance out my columns in "Amplifier" or wherever with both the good and the
bad, but MAN, sometimes folks can get touchy about it (mainly artists...I
have references. lol).
And having said that, I also think---gasp!---that a lot of the "IPO bands"
are lackluster (and Dave knows I think this). The main problem with a lot of
them is that the songs just aren't there...and if you don't have the songs,
well...you're dead.
I think I've related this story here before, but I vividly remember the
editor of AMPLIFIER telling me that one chap wrote in to say that he was
cancelling his subscription because I wrote in my column that I didn't like
The Jam. C'mon, folks. Get real, to use a lousy Southern California
expression.
Obviously, there is good and bad in all types of music, and Audities is a
great place to find out about both the good and the bad.
