Well, "Reaction" is a great song, but SUCKING IN STEREO is a terrific
record overall (Why The Figgs don't get more love in these parts is a
little bit of a head-scratcher for me, but I haven't been subbed to
Audities very long- maybe my perception is incorrect...SLOW CHARM was
barely on the year-end poll at all, no? What, have the critical cabal who
make this list so blinkered and IPO-focused weighed in against The Figgs at
some point and made it impossible for decent, sensitive lurkers to give
them the props they so richly deserve? What do those egalitarian,
broad-minded CoF folks think of them? Eb? Anybody?<g>). Shoot, the record
kicks off with "Opening Night," which is just as ear-grabbing (and
repeatable) as you could ask, and "Cheap Cassettes" certainly gives me that
"Reaction" reaction.
But back to the question. Heck yeah it's happened to me- happens all the
time. I can't even imagine how many songs it's happened
with, but here's five that come readily to mind:
"Password" Cotton Mather
"Detroit Bridge" The Revelers (another ignored/defunct? band, sigh)
"Sparky's Dream" Teenage Fanclub
"I Forgot" Crash Into June
"This Year's Jessica" The Beatifics
