Jeez. This is all so subjective. My tastes are probably more wide-ranging than anyone I know. But there have been several IPO-level releases (whatever that means, to coin a phrase from No Depression) that floor me even on the 400th listen. Cloud Eleven, June and Exit Wounds, Owsley, Jason Falkner, Brendan Benson, Greenberry Woods/Splitsville... so I don't understand what it takes to register a "fantastic" on the Eb meter.

And by the same token, I don't really care. Since I'm not coming over to your house to listen to records any day soon, your opinions about what's "fantastic" and what is merely "good" are taken with the appropriate grain of salt.

Please, don't take offense to this. I take the opinions of Bill Holmes with the same grain of salt, but time permitting, I will always check out something he recommends, because his opinions have scored some good music for me in the past.

I may check out something you recommend, too. So recommend something or lurk. But quit the slagging. It's a drag.

Scott
