Um...maybe that's because I never disputed either of those points?
Sheesh. From the beginning, I said the CoF poll was also skewed --
*Michael Bennett* was the one who claimed that it was "safe as milk"
and generic. And scolding the CoF poll for being "VERY small" when it
included just 20 people less than the exalted Audities poll was
clearly dubious.

By the way, since I haven't seen anyone else post it, here's the URL
of the newly posted Pazz & Jop results:
http://www.villagevoice.com/specials/pazznjop/02/index.php

Just for straightforward information's sake, here's the Audities top
10, ranked as it appears on the Pazz & Jop poll:
#1 Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (ranked by 201 critics)
#3 The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots (111 critics)
#77 Rhett Miller - The Instigator (16 critics)
#152 Brendan Benson - Lapalco (9 critics, including your beloved J.R. Taylor)
#446 The Model Rockets - Tell The Kids The Cops Are Here (3 critics)
#595 The Wondermints - Mind If We Make Love To You? (2 critics)
#1614 The Shazam - Tomorrow The World (1 critic...Mr. Bill Holmes :))
OK Go - OK Go (no votes)
Parallax Project - Oblivious (no votes)
Cloud Eleven - Orange And Green And Yellow And Near (no votes)

>Sorry that I don't think all eleven hundred critics in the

Under 700, but never mind.

>And yes, I'll be honest - although I respect their
>right to their opinion, someone who thinks Nickleback made one of the ten
>best records of the year has little credibility with me.

So you're tossing in a pointless Nickelback swipe now. Talk about
arbitrary. 1) Nickelback didn't even release an album this year. 2)
Even in 2001, I see that their album was voted for by just two
critics out of 600+. So, gosh, what a potent broadside you have just
launched at the critical community.

>So shock the world and talk about music on a music list.
>Or don't you have any original thoughts?

I haven't talked about anything *but* music. It's others who would
rather talk about breakfast cereals, third basemen and childhood
hard-ons.

Eb, once again asking for CC:/BCC:s in these post-impacted times, so
he doesn't have to rummage through the web archive
