Hey Brad,

It's already been pointed out that the song you're thinking about is "Last
Song" by Edward Bear, but I wanted to add that although the band is thought
of as a one song wonder, they actually had four albums and several hits in
Canada, including "You, Me, and Mexico", which went to #3 on the CHUM Charts
(CHUM being a huge Toronto radio station).  The album that "Last Song" is
on, simply titled Edward Bear, is really good and was reissued on CD in 2001
on EMI Canada.

I'm sure Jaimie Vernon could add a lot of info on these guys.
