McCrory's stunk. I haven't seen them in the southwest since the Late 80's
when they took over TG&Y, reverted them back to the 5-&-10 stores, and
killed them off. McCory's will probably buy out K-mart and run them into
the ground. Even Dollar General and Family Dollar (which are growing very
quickly) have better merchandise than they did.
Im afraid K-Mart is going down the same path TG&Y did, They cant afford to
build new stores like Wal Mart and Target have and upgrade their merchandise.
Wal-Mart has been super aggressive building supercenters all over the
dammed place, running over other chains and forcing their stores into
neighborhoods where people dont want them. They have been building one here
in Kilgore TX (population 12,000) that will open next month and its a
monster. My mother will love it.
