Sorry kinda late and playing catch up at the moment...

I thought long and hard about this one... and really, honestly it's all the fault
of:

The Smiths
The Pastels
Choo Choo Train/The Springfields/Velvet Crush
Shoes
The Byrds

That was it really, once I discovered The Byrds I was set on this rocky road...
the genre-crossing (if not inventing), the solo careers, side projects, ex-members
new bands etc etc etc The first band who I read about and loved evrything I soaked
up about them (shit these guys got me into country music!)

And I have to say that in terms of individuals it was probably down to BMX Bandit
lead singer, Duglas Stewart who made me several tapes when I was 17-18 which
included stuff by Big Star, Twilley, The Nazz, Raspberries, Millenium etc etc which
really blew my mind and had me hitting the record bins forever more... so much so
that 13 years later I'm still hooked. Thanks Duglas I owe ya!!

Steve
NP: BMX Bandits - Star Wars (almost forgot how great this is!)
