The duo was working on a movie and TV pilot when the crash happened. Had
the Movie and TV show became a success they probably would have had the
same fate the Raiders, Monkees (and 10 years later The Hudson Brothers) did
with rock critics. It might have sustained the group's success for another
year or two.
After listening to the "Carnaval Of Sound" bootleg, it sounds to me Jan was
moving toward the same mid 60's Pop sound Curt Boettcher and Gary Usher
were experimenting with around the same time and leaving the suft/cars/fun
formula for good.
