I have not been able to be an avid watcher of the American Dreams show. I did catch the episode about The Beatles arrival, and tonite's episode with Vanessa Carlton as Dusty Springfield. I understand the concept of bringing the artists of today to perform. Being that it is a brief moment on the show, it's really not about someone being exactly like the artist of that time period. However, I don't like Vanessa Carlton and to hear her sing "Wishin' and Hopin'" was really blah for me.
The Beatles episode was pretty cool and the show is pretty good. Ratings count, so appearances from Ashanti(Diana Ross), Usher(Marvin Gaye), and Michelle Branch(Lesley Gore)are key.
For those that follow the show, any thoughts to who you think would do better? I'm just curious.
