I've bought a cd by Pure Prairie League, called 'Amie & Other Hits'. I
had little information on this band, the only thing I knew was that they
were '70s country rock/ soft rock', but as it was sealed and for less
than one dollar, I took the chance. Well, I've made the right decision,
since it's a very nice album. Very melodic, laid back, crisply recorded
country rock, with occasional strings and other flourishes. I've learned
through AMG that 'Amie' is their most famous early hit, but the gem in
this album, for my ears, is called 'Boulder Skies', a must for fans of
70s ballads.
Based on what I saw on AMG, I have a few questions:
Is this the same album as 'Bustin Out', minus one song? Or are these
newly recorded versions?
What else should I look for, by the Pure Prairie League, or by Craig
Fuller's other bands (American Flyer, his record with Eric Kaz, his
record with Little Feat, etc.)?
Also, any similar sounding artists I should seek?
Thanks!
Rafael.
