I was going through some of the vinyl I picked up last fall at the Mammoth
Music Mart and came across a record by Hot Mama Silver. I put it on, not
expecting much, as the cover would lead me to believe that the contents would
be standard fare 80's metal (one of my guilty pleasures). I was surprised to
hear a well written song with a good hook and an almost pop chorus. Liner
notes reveal the songwriter and singer to be none other than Herb Eimerman,
that purveyor of great pop on the Black Vinyl label. If you see a copy at a
used store near you, pick it up, it's worth it. Herb, if you're on the list,
good move losing the beard.
